In early 2025, our client and her family, including her husband and two children, arrived in Canada from Israel during a time of uncertainty and regional conflict. Like many families looking for safety and stability, they hoped to explore new opportunities and build a more secure future. Canada’s special public policy for Israeli nationals and their family members opened a unique path for them: the possibility to apply for Open Work Permits, for 3 years, for the couple and an adult child and a Visitor Record for a minor child without leaving Canada.
This is a recently introduced and time-limited program that had not been commonly accessed. Drawing on our knowledge, experience, and dedication to our clients, we took on the challenge and successfully guided them through every step of the process.
This program is a temporary public policy that allows eligible Israeli nationals, Palestinian passport holders, and their family members who are already in Canada to apply for:
This public policy is only available until July 31, 2025, so it’s important to act soon if you qualify.
When our client and her family reached out to us, we recognized the uniqueness of their situation and we tailored a strategy to support their application.
They had first entered Canada with Electronic Travel Authorizations (eTAs), as Israel is a visa-exempt country, and were staying in Canada as visitors. As part of our preparation, we advised them to obtain new eTAs for her husband and one of the children, since their passport expiry dates did not allow for the minimum recommended validity of three years under the special measures.
From inside Canada, we helped her, her husband, their adult son, and their young daughter prepare and submit complete applications. Our team ensured that each document met IRCC requirements, and we supported the family in demonstrating financial stability and legal visitor status in Canada.
Just three months after submission, the IRCC approved their Open Work Permits and the Visitor Record for their minor child.
With legal authorization to remain and work in Canada, the family can now begin a new chapter with greater peace of mind.
At Immigria, we understand how complicated these times are for both Israeli and Palestinian families. Canada has created special pathways to help and we are here to make sure you don’t navigate them alone.
Even if your case feels unfamiliar or complex, our team will guide you through the process, answer your questions, and provide clear, professional support every step of the way.
If you’re currently in Canada and believe you may be eligible under this temporary policy, don’t wait. The program will end soon.
